Make sure you’re election-ready

Voters going to the polls in May to elect their local representatives are being urged to make sure they’re ‘election ready’.

Voters have a range of options – they can vote in person, by post or by appointing someone they trust to vote in their place, known as a proxy vote.

The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on 19 April, and for a proxy vote the deadline is 5pm on 26 April.

A North East Lincolnshire Council spokesperson said: “Local elections are an important opportunity for local residents to have their voice heard and choose who represents them on local issues.

“If you’re not able to get to your polling station on election day, there are other ways you can cast your vote.”

For information on elections in their area, how to register to vote, or how to apply to vote by post or by proxy, voters can visit www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voter- external site. This page will continue to be updated ahead of the polls.
