North East Lincolnshire Council has written to every home in the borough outlining the support and information available to people during the Covid-19 pandemic.
As we head into Easter weekend and the fourth week of the Government’s ‘stay at home’ measures, more than 73,000 households will be receiving a letter through their post boxes.
The letter, with a personal message of thanks from Council Leader Philip Jackson, outlines details about the local response to the pandemic, and a list of key information about support available to residents and businesses.
Councillor Jackson said: “While we’ re hearing lots of great feedback about the information online, in the media, from local organisations, councillors and community volunteers, we know that a significant number of residents may not have seen any of this. As such, we think it’s important we produce a specific letter for every household.
“The decision to letter drop all households with this information is similar to that being taken by a number of other local authorities across the country. It will ensure that everyone, particularly the most vulnerable in the community, has sight of how to access the support available as we head into the Bank Holiday.
“I would like to thank everyone again for following Government advice and staying at home whenever possible, and to the very many of our residents who are keeping North East Lincolnshire running. It has been inspiring to be part of such an amazing shared response. We will get through this crisis by continuing to work together”.
