North East Lincolnshire Council has today launched a new discretionary grant through the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) scheme for businesses who are ‘open but affected’ due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Businesses who have experienced at least a 30% drop in income can apply for a discretionary grant between now and 28 February 2021.
The grants will support businesses at the same rate as the previous payments to supply chain businesses, with some of the most severely affected receiving a one-off top up payment. Businesses are urged to apply as soon as possible as funding is limited.
Supply chain businesses who have received grant support since November 2020 do not need to reapply and will be contacted directly for more information to determine eligibility for future payments, including a potential top-up payment.
Councillor Callum Procter, portfolio holder for economic growth, housing and tourism at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “We know that the coronavirus has caused untold disruption to businesses – particularly in recent months when many industries have been forced to close.
“It’s important that local businesses take up this latest offer of support to help them to get through the remainder of the current lockdown. Grants like these could mean the difference between a business breaking even or having to close.
“The funding for this grant is limited though, so I would urge businesses in our area that are eligible of this grant to get their applications in early.”
Businesses that have been forced to close by Government from November 2020 onwards can still apply for grant support via an application form on the Council’s website.
