Final stage of Cycle Superhighway to start

North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner EQUANS will oversee the third and final phase of the multi-million-pound Cycle Superhighway, with work set to begin on January 17.

Following a competitive tender process, contractor CR Reynolds has been appointed to install the remaining part of the highway along the stretch of the A1173, which runs from the CATCH training facility leading across Kings Road and linking to the existing cycleway at the Pelham Road junction.

Work will take around three months to complete. Temporary traffic signals will be in place to allow road users to travel in either direction along the route.

Engineers at Northern Powergrid will be working alongside the contractor to install electricity cables along this final section of the cycle route.
