THE views of more than 3,000 local people are helping support three new bids for Government funds to reshape Grimsby Town Centre and Cleethorpes – and more public opinion is now being sought.
As previously reported, part of Central Government’s Levelling Up agenda bids are being put together to apply for grants from the LUF (Levelling Up Fund) Round Two. Two of these relate to Grimsby town centre – for the continued development of the leisure scheme at the Top Town Market end of Freshney Place, and the other to create a transport hub in the town centre.
The projects being put forward for LUF money have been developed using what you’ve previously told us in consultations about the Town Centre Masterplan, Our Place Our Future, and more specific consultations like the Bus Service Improvement Plan.
As we progress with these two bids in the coming months, we will ask for your views again with more detailed consultation.
However, what we want to do now is ask residents, business owners, workers, and visitors to the town centre for any further thoughts they may have, which will help to strengthen our two bids to Government in July.
