Road testing works to plan improvements to borough’s highways

Road testing works will take place at various locations across North East Lincolnshire this month.

North East Lincolnshire Council and its regeneration partner EQUANS will carry out testing at the following locations:

  • Mendip Avenue, Grimsby
  • Southwold Crescent, Grimsby
  • Peaks Lane, New Waltham,
  • Knoll Street, Cleethorpes
  • Taylor’s Avenue, Cleethorpes,
  • Waltham Road, Barnoldby-le-Beck

Testing will take place from Monday 22 November, with all works completed within two days. Contractors will complete testing of one site before moving on to the next.

To limit the impact and allow the works to be carried out safely, localised traffic management (stop and go boards / cones and barriers) will be in place for a short period at each location.

As an additional safety measure, temporary traffic lights may be in place at some locations for a short period of time as testing is carried out.

The works involve a series of tests and the removal of samples from each road. This helps us to get a detailed understanding of the road condition to help inform and plan for future maintenance and repairs. Our results will be used to develop the overall regeneration of the area’s roads, lanes and carriageways.
